What is the difference between thermal and waterbase cellophanes?

Thermal cellophane

Cellophanes are applicable and important devices which are used in nowadays’ daily life. These products are used for packaging foodstuffs and covers, producing banderole and agricultural and pharmaceutical industries. Generally, cellophanes are crucial products formed by a very thin nylon which are placed on a cardboard or paper for its beauty and firmness. There are different kinds of cellophanes which some of them are transparent and shining and others are opaque. Even all kinds of its velvety, shelly, metalized and sandy are produced. In addition to their different appearance and raw materials, these products have different functions. One of the classifications are thermal cellophane and waterbase cellophanes. We seek to find out what is the difference between thermal cellophane and waterbase cellophane? Be with us.

The difference between thermal and waterbase cellophanes

Cellophanes have various meanings in today’s world. Transparent and glass made cellophanes in Iran are usually made by polypropylene. When we talk about their usage in printing industry, the devices use thermal or waterbase cellophanes. Each one of these products has its unique function and they are used in different cases. We explain the difference between thermal and waterbase cellophanes In this part.

There are different kinds of thermal cellophanes. They are categorized into three groups based on being opaque, shining and fantasy. 1- Thermal cellophanes pvc which are made by plastic materials and are colorless and transparent. They are in dry material and fragile too. The maximum temperatures which is suitable for them is 20 degrees.

The second group of thermal cellophanes are POF (Polyolefin)

These products have suitable flexibility and they are usually used for packaging the materials and edibles. Their prices are also higher than all other kinds of cellophanes. The last group are fantasy cellophanes including all designed, metalized and velvety cellophanes. These products are very firm and they are used to make all other products strong. Waterbase cellophanes are another kind of these products which have important applications. One of the differences of thermal and waterbase cellophanes is in making the thermal cellophanes a special kind of glue which is used in order that after mixing cellophanes with glue, it can be placed on products and works with heat.

The heat is considered to be in a special amount and with a specific device used for this action. However in waterbase cellophanes due to the absence of this glue on the cellophanes a special glue should be used at the time of installation. In fact ,the cellophane processes by glue are installed in a separated process in such conditions.  The operating speed will be higher by thermal cellophanes in this process.

Cellophanes are made by different devices which some of them produce thermal cellophanes and some others produce waterbase cellophanes products. Some of the devices produce both of them. In waterbase cellophanes the cold glue is placed on cellophane device which is in storage. The raw cellophane while whirling and passing on container inside of the storage will be glued. Then the intended cellophane having also the glue in it is placed on the works. This cellophane is cheaper than the thermal cellophane.

Thermal and waterbase cellophanes

In printing industry,  waterbase and thermal cellophanes are used.  These products have some differences. Thermal cellophanes are used for improving the quality of shining and opacity, strengthening the protection and firmness and increasing the beauty and appearance of the products. Thermal and waterbase cellophanes do not have many differences in application’s parts. In fact, the difference between thermal and waterbase cellophanes is in their making process and the way in which they are used. As mentioned before, the most important difference of the two is the way in which they were made. They have also different prices.

Thermal cellophanes’ advantages compared to waterbase cellophanes

Thermal cellophanes compared to waterbase cellophanes are better and they are considered an intelligent choice. These cellophanes are different with each other in their making and the way they are used.  The installation speed of thermal cellophanes is much higher than waterbase cellophanes. Their quality are also higher as well.Due to their high quality, these products are very  welcomed and acceptable. Thermal cellophanes have glue with themselves and there is no need to consider more time and price at their installation time when gluing the cellophanes.

Thermal cellophanes do not have bubbles on the other hand and their strength and beauty are guaranteed on the products.

Waterbase cellophanes should be carefully installed as well and sometimes they might have bubbles. Thermal cellophanes do not have white spots and due to their glue they can not be moved easily on packaging and products. The glue protects the cellophanes from taking bubbles, not taking too long time and in general to have a good performance at installation time and packaging the products

Conclusion

Nowadays cellophanes are very applicable and important devices which are present in all kinds of industries and businesses. These products are used in different cases and they are produced in all kinds of transparent, opaque, patterned and fantasy. In printing industry thermal cellophanes and waterbase cellophanes are used. These two kinds of cellophanes are similar to each other in many ways based on their appliances. However their forming process and the way in which they are used  can be beneficial. One of the differences of thermal and waterbase cellophanes is that thermal cellophanes have glue.  The glue provides various potentialities to thermal cellophanes and it makes its installation on the products to be done with more speed and precision in many cases.
